Impact of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) on Interactive Learning Systems
Main Article Content
Abstract
Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) have emerged as transformative technologies in education, offering interactive and immersive experiences that enhance learning and engagement in various subjects. This study investigates the impact of AR and VR on interactive learning systems, focusing on how these technologies influence engagement, comprehension, and retention across diverse educational settings. This Study involved a six-month study from June 2023 to December 2023, using AR and VR platforms to conduct interactive learning sessions in STEM and humanities subjects. A sample of 200 students participated, divided into AR/VR and traditional learning groups. Pre- and post-assessments were administered to measure learning outcomes, and engagement was monitored through interaction metrics. Data were analyzed using statistical methods, including paired t-tests and ANOVA, to assess the impact on learning outcomes and engagement. Results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes for AR/VR participants, with a 30% increase in comprehension and retention scores compared to traditional methods. 85% of students in the AR/VR group reported higher engagement, with 70% stating that the interactive nature of the learning platform helped them understand complex concepts better. Additionally, 65% of participants showed improved performance in post-assessments, confirming the efficacy of AR/VR tools in enhancing educational experiences. AR and VR significantly enhance interactive learning systems by improving engagement and retention, suggesting a promising future for immersive technologies in education.
