Publication Ethics
The Pacific Journal of Cardiovascular Innovations (PJCI) is deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, ensuring the integrity, transparency, and accountability of all individuals involved in the scholarly publishing process. By adhering to internationally recognized ethical guidelines, PJCI defines clear responsibilities for authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers, maintaining the journal's reputation for excellence, reliability, and scientific rigor.
For Authors:
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure their submissions are original and properly cite all sources. Manuscripts must not include plagiarized material or be simultaneously submitted to other journals. Direct copying, improper paraphrasing, and self-plagiarism are strictly prohibited.
- Accurate Reporting: Authors are responsible for accurately reporting their research findings, methodologies, and results. Fabrication or falsification of data is not permitted and is a serious ethical violation.
- Authorship Criteria: Authorship should reflect substantial contributions to the research. All contributors must be appropriately credited, and disputes over authorship must be resolved following the journal's policies.
- Data Transparency: Authors must retain raw data and provide it for verification if requested, ensuring the reproducibility of results while respecting confidentiality and privacy regulations.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including financial, personal, or professional factors that may influence the research or its interpretation.
- Ethical Compliance: Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with established ethical standards and obtain necessary institutional approvals, including informed consent and ethical review board clearances.
For Reviewers:
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts and not share or use the content for personal benefit.

- Timeliness: Reviewers must provide feedback within the set timeframe to ensure a swift and efficient review process.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts where such conflicts exist.
- Ethical Oversight: If reviewers identify ethical issues such as plagiarism, data manipulation, or other misconduct, they must promptly report them to the editorial board.
For Editors:

- Fair Review Process: Editors must oversee the double-blind peer-review process to ensure fairness and impartiality in manuscript evaluations.
- Ethical Oversight: Editors are responsible for investigating and addressing ethical breaches, including retractions or corrections, ensuring transparency and fairness in such actions.
